About OT Exam Insights

OT Exam Insights was created by someone who wants to help every student succeed

Hello and Welcome to OT Exam Insights! I am an occupational therapist who has a passion for helping OT students. After realizing something was missing in the NBCOT® exam study resources available for OT students, I decided to develop my own resources that help fill the gap in current OT study tools. With a degree in philosophy, I have a unique understanding of the fundamental nature of human success and potential, and am dedicated to sharing this with OT students. I can guarantee you will find OT Exam Insights to be a refreshing resource and pivotal tool to your success in passing the NBCOT® exam. Success can be yours. I believe you can do it!

If you have discovered this website then you are likely a student and the impending OT exam is on the horizon. You likely have many emotions and feelings about where you are at right now, perhaps you are feeling burnout, stress, fear, uncertainty, or doubt. These may be due to the upcoming exam or just about your education experience so far. If you are feeling any of these things then you have come to the right place to find the help you need.

The original OT Exam Insights product is the book OT Exam Insights: Cracking the Code to the National Occupational Therapy Exam, however there are now 2 additional products available on this website to help OT students: The OT Exam Worksheet Bundle and the OT Crossword Collection. Students have been loving all three of these unique and affordable resources!

The insights and strategies I have described in the book OT Exam Insights: Cracking the Code to the National Occupational Therapy Exam are the result of my experiences both as an OT student and an OT exam tutor. Having experienced both the horror and delight of the occupational therapy exam from both sides and pinpointing the exact nature of the problem, I can say with certainty that I have cracked the code to mastering this exam. My passion for helping others succeed has only fueled my motivation to research and craft this book into the final product. Life has enough uncertainties, and when you are trying to start a career, the last thing you need is to be without the proper resources to be successful. OT Exam Insights goes beyond the exploration of occupational therapy content and addresses other crucial elements to passing the exam.

While there are many tools out there to help you learn the content required to pass the OT exam, the lack of information and supportive resources that address the high levels of stress and anxiety and how to counteract them while preparing for the NBCOT® exam is concerning and surprisingly sparse. Over and over, I read the same test-taking strategies: know the material, get a good night’s sleep before the exam, eat a good meal, and don’t second guess yourself. But the role that stress and anxiety plays in exam performance is a complex issue that goes far beyond a lack of understanding OT exam content or getting a good night of sleep. The truth is, these strategies don’t cut it.

What is unique about this book is that it provides a holistic approach and critical formula to achieve exam success. OT Exam Insights, broken down into three parts, will help any student ace their occupational therapy exam:

Part 1 covers strategies to help you manage anxiety and actualize your true potential, so you can do your best on the exam.

Part 2 covers principles of analysis of exam questions, so you better understand what is expected in the exam and know how to answer the questions.

Part 3 includes practice test questions with detailed rationales and reflections to help you apply analysis strategies.

OT Exam Insights will provide:

  • Worksheets to keep you focused.
  • Mindfulness, relaxation, and cognitive behavioral exercises to foster a positive mindset.
  • Tools and reflections to help you analyze questions and think more critically.
  • Two, four-part clinical simulation questions.
  • 100 multiple-choice questions.
  • Detailed rationales and reflections to explain questions.
